Hi, I’m Christopherkerry. Welcome to CopicMarkerTutorials.com. If you’re reading this, I’m betting we have a lot in common… probably more than you think. Ever since I was a child I’ve had a passion for art. While the other kids were playing sports and watching TV, I was busy copying my favorite anime characters, and drawing prehistoric monsters with great gnashing teeth.
By the time I got to high school, I was a much better artist than I was a student, and my guidance counselor, Mr. Hater (yep, that really was his name,) took notice. While I swear I can remember every word he said to me that day, I’ll spare you the details and give you the short version. Mr. Hater told me in no uncertain terms that I should give up drawing and focus on my school work, and that if I continued to believe that I would ever make a living as an artist, I would never amount to anything and wind up broke and living on the streets holding a sign saying “will draw for food.”
Right then and there I swore to myself that I would prove him wrong.
A few years later an article about me appeared in the newspaper. My ability as a draftsman and sculptor had earned me a position as a curatorial assistant at a major natural history museum where I was sculpting the missing bone fragments necessary to complete the museum’s display of the largest terrestrial vertebrate skull on the planet. I bought an extra copy of that newspaper and dropped it off to Mr. Hater personally.
I was told I couldn’t make a living as an artist, that art was only a hobby, and that one day soon I would have to get a “real” job (whatever that means.) I was told wrong, and I’m betting you were too. I have earned an income as an artist nearly my entire adult life. I have drawings and paintings in private collections all over the world, and I’ve created life-size memorial sculptures in bronze that will gaze across grassy fields long after I’m gone. I have paid my bills with my childhood dream, and you can too. I can’t wait to show you how.
